We recently had such a great time working working on a dream digital assignment: the redesign of Clos du Soleil winery’s new website.

Tamera and I designed the site to showcase Clos du Soleil’s hand- crafted Bordeaux style wines and reflect the beauty of the Similkameen Valley and the winery by using gorgeous photographs, videos and behind-the-scenes access to the winemaker.

Designed to provide an interactive and unique visitor experience, Clos du Soleil’s new website offers tasting notes and pairings that come from winemakers, chefs and culinary leaders. Information is seasonal and refreshed continually so fans can look to the site as a resource for consistently relevant, interesting information.

“We are thrilled to offer our loyal fans a distinctive and hands-on digital experience,” said Clos du Soleil’s principal Leslie LeQuelenec. “Our winery is one-of-a-kind and we want people to feel as if the winery, its beauty and its people are at their fingertips even though they are not physically at the winery.”

The new site offers an online store and Wine Club that is run seamlessly at the back end by winery ecommerce expert BlackBoxx, a company that harnesses the latest online technologies to create a powerful recurring purchase and e-commerce platform. Wines can be purchased on Clos du Soleil’s site directly. Each of the wines is described in detail with winemaker and tasting notes.

With the visitor’s experience at the forefront of design, we designed the site to provide simple and seamless experience for the customer. For us, the measure of success was the ease and pleasure users enjoy when navigating a site and a happy client!

For those who are looking for special benefits and insider information, they can join the Soleil 160 Wine Club. Members receive access to limited offering wines, discounted rates off online purchases and free admission to exclusive events including VIP tours and tastings. Fans of Clos du Soleil can easily access information about the wine label whether they’re at home, the bottle shop, or touring the vineyards.

The digital platform needed to reflect Clos du Soleil’s heritage while presenting a strong sense of the Similkameen Valley region the label calls home. This new platform brings the brand to life digitally, and empowers fans to explore and share the rich stories behind the wines.
